Herdade da Lisboa 'Convés' Red Blend 2022 carries the weight of Portuguese maritime history within its bottle. Located in Alentejo—Portugal's expansive wine region spanning a third of the country—the estate sits in the Vidigueira sub-region near Selmes.

The winery's name references Vasco da Gama, the legendary explorer who received the title Count of Vidigueira after charting the maritime route from Europe to India. The King of Portugal subsequently granted him these very lands, making 'Convés' (meaning "deck of a boat") a fitting tribute to that storied legacy.

Acquired by João Cardoso and his sons in 2011, Herdade da Lisboa continues a winemaking tradition stretching back to the 18th century.

This blend showcases Aragonez—Portugal's most widely planted variety, known as Tempranillo in Spain and Tinta Roriz in Douro and Dão—paired with two French classics. Alicante Bouschet, which finds its true home in Alentejo's terroir, joins Syrah, a varietal that thrives in the region's characteristically poor soils.

dark fruit concentration, spice-driven complexity, and the mineral-driven character that Alentejo's challenging growing conditions impart. This is a wine of considerable character—one that honors both Portuguese tradition and international winemaking excellence, equally suited to hearty cuisine and contemplative appreciation.
