Yumble, Chile

A rustic liter of red made from centuries old paintings of Pais, a grape that came to the Americas with the original Spanish colonists. A grape long relegated to peasant wine and sacramental use, Pais is getting its well-deserved due with its old vine bottles done in the traditional fashion finally becoming available to a wider audience. Earthy and slightly smoky, with moderately tannic expressions of cherry and plums.
