Maxime Troncy comes from a family winery. In 2013, his father bequeathed him some vines to work without chemical intervention. It's a sizable plot of about 10 hectares, but the plan is to convert the whole estate, so these are wines we hope to have around for a long time. The vines vary from 70 years old to less than a decade old. Troncy’s wines taste just like we always want Beaujolais to, like the first bottles we had from Lapierre and Foillard. Fresh strawberries and cream. We are thrilled with the Bourgogne Blanc as well for it’s freshness and simple display of its fruit. Troncy explains that the "sourire" cuvees are wines for pleasure, for conviviality and sharing. Maxime also supplies all the Gamay Julien Altaber uses in his cuvees.

Maxime Troncy, a new addition to the ZRS portfolio, hails from a family with a long tradition of producing conventional wines in Beaujolais. In 2013, his father entrusted him with a 10-hectare plot to farm without chemical intervention, marking the beginning of Maxime’s journey into the natural wine scene. This significant initiative reflects his commitment to sustainable practices and organic viticulture. The vineyard, surrounded by an ancient clos, has vines ranging from 80 years old to less than a decade, embodying a rich history and promising future for Les Souriants.
