Chardonnay 2024 W.I.P Wines
W.I.P. stands for "Work In Progress," a name that reflects founder and winemaker Alex Evnin's philosophy that wine, like life, is always evolving. The idea is refreshingly honest. Alex grew up surrounded by vineyards in Napa Valley, but it was her adventurous spirit and time spent in New Zealand that helped shape her perspective as a winemaker. At first sip, we noticed that the wine carries the freshness, precision, and energy often found in the finest cool-climate Chardonnays of New Zealand.
The nose offers bright citrus, green apple, pear, and white stone fruit. On the palate, the wine feels focused and intentional, with vibrant acidity, subtle texture, and a clean mineral-driven finish. What impressed me most was its sense of purpose. Every element feels carefully considered, resulting in a Chardonnay that is energetic, refreshing, and remarkably precise.
