Fazenda Agrícola Augalevada is the first certified biodynamic winery in the D.O. Ribeiro (Galicia).

The story of Fazenda Agrícola Augalevada parallels the love story of Iago Garrido and Liliana Fernández. The couple met while studying agricultural engineering at the university in Ourense. Augalevada began as a furancho; a traditional Galician establishment set up in a private home to sell surplus wine from the family harvest.

Between 2009 and 2010, Iago and Liliana planted around three hectares, and by 2014 they started producing their first wines.

Fazenda Agrícola Augalevada Ollos Branco is crafted from a mosaic of indigenous white varieties from the area, prominently featuring treixadura, albariño, and godello, alongside lesser-known varieties such as branco lexítimo, verdello antigo, lado, torrontés, and loureira. These grapes come from selected vineyards in various locations, growing in soils with distinct characteristics. The grapes are harvested while still crisp, helping to retain their vibrant freshness. The wine fermented and aged in barrels and amphorae for around 10 months.

The winery is named after a small river that bisects the landscape where it is situated, a river the ancient inhabitants of the area called Augalevada. This name reflects the intentions of Iago and Liliana, who, by reviving the local indigenous white and red varieties and working based on biodynamic principles, celebrate the winemaking tradition and respect for the environment through sincere wines that improve with each vintage and are a true revelation in the D.O. Ribeiro, well worth discovering.
