  • Loire, France
  • ‘The fruit comes from Cabernet vines propagated by sélection massale, the original material coming from Chinon. The vines were planted by Xavier in the Chesnaie and La Rochère vineyards. It saw an élevage in small barrels for two years. I get smoky fruit on the nose, followed by a pretty and rather delicate palate, with rose petals and peonies to the fore, leading into a lean mid-palate which allows the rich wrapping of tannins to shine through. It has a lot of grip in the finish. It is pretty though.
