The  Rainer Schnaitmann Steinwiege Muskattrollinger Rose has a light rosé tone in the glass. The nose is filled with an exciting composition of aromas. These range from lychee, rhubarb and vineyard peach to rose petals, mace and orange zest. Of course, the finely spicy notes of nutmeg, which are already contained in the name of the grape variety, cannot be missed. These are also surrounded by nuances of white pepper and cedar wood. On the palate, however, these impressions are wonderfully accessible and easy to drink thanks to its fruity and light-footed nature. The noticeably moderate alcohol content combined with a very finely integrated tannin structure also support this style excellently.

The Rainer Schnaitmann Steinwiege Muskattrollinger Rose is a great aperitif and summer wine. It goes wonderfully with light Asian cuisine, sushi, river fish or summer vegetable dishes. Cream cheese, goat and sheep cheese and even a young red smear cheese also go well with this wine. A simple but hearty snack also goes well with this aromatic rosé wine in a classic Württemberg style .

winemaking

Steinwiege is the name protected by Rainer Schnaitmann for their single-varietal estate wines from VDP-classified locations. Muskattrollinger, on the other hand, is an old, late-ripening, aromatic Muscat variety. The Trollinger contained in the name comes from the blue berries, which are similar to Trollinger. This is therefore not a cross or cuvée, as is often assumed.

In terms of vinification, the grapes are processed using extensive spontaneous fermentation, as is usual at the Schnaitmann winery . This is followed by aging in stainless steel, which means that the exciting primary aromas of the grape variety can be perfectly preserved. The fact that only 60 hl/ha of harvested material is used should also not go unmentioned.
