The Soellner family has been making wine in Austria’s Wagram region for generations, and you can feel that mix of tradition and easy confidence in every bottle. Their vineyards sit on sandy-clay soils that soak up the sun but still keep the vines cool at night—perfect for bright, fresh wines. They farm organically and really lean into letting the grapes do their thing, no heavy-handed winemaking, just a respect for what the land and vintage give them. The “Dani” wines are some of their most easygoing and approachable, made for everyday drinking but still with that Austrian precision that keeps things interesting.
The 2024 Dani Rosé is 80% Zweigelt and 20% Blaufränkisch, picked to keep the fruit vibrant and the alcohol low. Everything is fermented in stainless steel to preserve that crisp, clean profile, then bottled young to capture its just-picked freshness. In the glass, it’s light and dry, with juicy raspberry and red currant from the Zweigelt, plus a little extra depth and spice from the Blaufränkisch. There’s a gentle herbal edge and a subtle peppery note that make it more interesting than your average patio pour, but it still has that laid-back, easy-drinking vibe. It’s the kind of rosé that works for literally any occasion—picnics, porch hangs, weeknight dinners. Pair it with grilled veggies, a caprese salad, or even sushi, and it’ll feel like summer no matter what the calendar says.
