2024 will go down as a vintage with lower yields but excellent wines and this is on full display in this latest release from the micro production estate Mina Penelope. Sauvignon Blancs from Mexico are all over the charts in terms of style but this one is always more old world leaning with taught crisp acidity providing a delightfully angular structure for properly ripened fruit. As winemaker Veronica Santiago continues to settle into a “style” these wines are becoming a reference for the region.
