Malvasia di Candia 2022 Quarticello 'Le Mole'
Montecchio Emilia, Italy
In the homeland of Lambrusco, Roberto Maestri has managed the Azienda Agrciola Quarticello since 2007, a 5-hectare estate certified organic since 2015.
The grapes come from vines on calcareous clay soil with a gravelly bottom, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, 5-day maceration with a 30% of over-ripened grapes, unfiltered and aged in steel 12 months
👃🏻 Floral and fruity, clear presence of aromatic herbs with mineral returns
👅 Medium-bodied but firmly structured, the sip is broad and satisfying, savoury and persistent
100% Malvasia Candia Aromatico, one of the numerous Malvasia varieties, soils interspersed with clay and gravel. The biodynamic harvest is mashed for five days and consists of almost a third of overripe grapes. After fermentation, the wine is aged in stainless steel for one year.
In the glass, Le Mole makes tasty notes: unfiltered amber in the glass. Herbal, rich without fat. Deep fruit on the palate, invigorating tannins, complex in the finish.
Hits the sweet spot between aromatic complexity and drinkable cheerfulness so wonderfully.
