Russian River Valley, CA 

Founded in 2023 by David Drummond alongside winemaker and managing partner
Sam Bilbro, Comunità is a celebration of both the wines of North East Italy by way of
California as well as our amazing estate vineyard, Las Cimas, as seen through this
varietal lense.

Las Cimas sits at in the hills above the Middle Reach of the Russian River Valley and is
home to a staggering array of varietals, many of which are the first varietal plantings
in the New World. The mornings generally start with fog that burns quicker than the
valley below, followed by mountain sunshine before the Pacific sends in daily cooling
winds that sweep across the hillsides in the late afternoons. This unique climate mixed
with the fractured sandstone soils makes for a truly amazing site. Furthermore, Las
Cimas is farmed using organic and regenerative practices to best allow healthy soils
and vines.

Inpired by the wines of Alto Adige, our 2023 “Via Paraiso’ White Wine is a blend of 38%
Kerner, 25% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Riesling, and 12% Malvasia Bianca. The varietals are
all picked separetly with the intention of both optimal ripeness and great acidity in
mind. All four varietals are fermented in stainless steel tanks via native yeast and are
allowed to go through secondary fermentation as well. After five months of aging in a
mix of stainless steel and neutral barrique, the wine is blended and prepped for
bottling.

The 2023 vintage shows scents of alpine flowers and meadows along with citrus peel
and a touch of fresh floral herbs. The palate is refreshing with fresh salt and mineral
notes that carry across the texture and acidity.
